Choosing Your Size
Your Fitwell M1 size is based on the width of your strap at the buckle - not the lug width of your watch.
If your strap is straight (non-tapered):
Select the M1 size that matches your lug width.
If your strap tapers toward the buckle:
Measure the width of your strap at the buckle end, or the inside width of your current buckle, using a ruler, tape measure, or caliper.
Choose the M1 size that matches that measurement.
Most tapered straps narrow by 2–4 mm.
Examples:
- A 20mm strap (at the lugs) tapering to 16mm → choose a 16mm M1
- A 22mm strap (at the lugs) tapering to 18mm → choose an 18mm M1

The fitwell buckle is an extremely useful product that has made a number of my watches more comfortable to wear. The ability to adjust the buckle is a real game changer that allows for adjustments based upon factors like the temperature and humidity. Kudos to the inventor of such an ingenious product!
The finishing of the buckle is quite nice, but it doesn’t stay in the smaller position. There are a couple things at play here, I think; first, when putting the buckle in its smaller position, it creates such a little opening for a strap to fit through(pictured) that it will inevitably cause the buckle to slip out of the smaller position back into the larger position, due to tension from the strap. Second, the amount of tension within the mechanism is not enough to hold the buckle in the smaller position under most circumstances. Third, when trying to utilize the smaller position, it awkwardly angles the buckle up off the wrist at close to a 45 degree angle. It’s a nice idea but far from perfected execution.
I will be getting these for all of my straps.

The adjustable buckle works really well! It easily slides between the strap to allow for a great fit. Installation is simple, as it comes with instructions.
I had some unexpected issues with shipping and duties. Tom and his team responded to my concerns quickly and resolved my issue. I highly recommend you to try their buckles if you have a hard time finding a good fit with your strap.
