Add seamless micro-adjustment to your existing deployant or buckle. The Fitwell Micro-Adjust Universal Link gives you the same on-the-fly comfort as our integrated Fitwell buckles, now in a compact inline form that installs easily between your strap and existing closure.
If you’ve ever found your watch too tight in warm weather or too loose in the cold, this is your fix. It adds precise, wrist-adjustable sizing without tools or strap modification.
Features
- Works with both deployant clasps and pin buckles that use standard 1.5mm diameter spring bars (or 1.6mm diameter spring bars on the 22mm links)
- Compatible with most leather, rubber, or fabric straps
- Adds up to 3mm of micro-adjustment for perfect daily comfort
- Adjusts easily on the wrist - no tools required
- Crafted from 316L stainless steel
- Adds only 5.5mm of strap length (less than one hole)
- Includes spring bars for quick installation
How It Works
The Universal Micro-Adjust Link connects between your clasp and strap, extending or shortening the strap by up to 3mm with a simple slide mechanism. It effectively doubles the number of fit positions available, allowing you to fine-tune comfort throughout the day.
Choosing Your Size
Your Fitwell Link size is based on the width of your strap at the buckle - not the lug width of your watch.
If your strap is straight (non-tapered):
Select the Link size that matches your lug width.
If your strap tapers toward the buckle:
Measure the width of your strap at the buckle end, or the inside width of your current buckle, using a ruler, tape measure, or caliper.
Choose the Link size that matches that measurement.
Most tapered straps narrow by 2–4 mm.
Examples:
- A 20mm strap (at the lugs) tapering to 16mm → choose a 16mm Link
- A 22mm strap (at the lugs) tapering to 18mm → choose an 18mm Link
A note about tang / pin width:
The 16mm and 18mm wide Links will accommodate tangs up 3mm wide (many G-Shock and similar buckles) and the 20mm and 22mm Links will accommodate tangs up to 4mm wide (many Panerai and similar buckles).
A note about deployant compatibility:
Deployants come in many shapes and sizes. While the M4 is compatible with most, some (like Omega style deployants) do not allow the the M4 link to sit correctly when installed. Please reach out to us with any questions you may have about your particular make and model and we will be glad to assist.

I purchased the 20mm M4, and it arrived safely in Japan. After using it, I can say I’m extremely satisfied.
The fit is excellent, and the micro‑adjust function works flawlessly. It completely solved the “in‑between hole” issue I had been dealing with. It’s rare to find a product that performs this well in real-world use, but this one truly exceeded my expectations.
The build quality and finishing are fine, and you can tell a lot of care went into the design.
If you’ve struggled with similar fit problems, I highly recommend giving this a try.
Fitwell products are genuinely impressive.
Highly recommended.
The universal link is a brilliant idea at first glance; if so, it is perfectly realized. The manufacturing quality is there.
However, I ordered them without taking the time to read the specifications carefully, in particular the compatible tongue width. Almost all my buckles have a > 4 mm tongue width. My fault.
The point is that those "universal" links are not that universal.
Read carefully before buying.
The M4 works as it should. It is just slightly too tight on Panerai buckle screw bars. The bar can still fit through the M4 however the tightness makes it so it won’t move to well and it scratches the buckle bar. The M4 does provide a great way to micro adjust to get a better fit from Panerai straps.
The buckle should be wider because when it is on the narrow setting it is harder to put the strap through the buckle. of course one could widen it and then when its on one can then put it on the narrow setting again but that is a bother
